Participants will combine the bench press and running a 5K. Males and females will get a one minute deduction from their race time for each time they can bench press a percentage of their body weight.

The concept is really simple. People can deduct time from their 5K by how many bench press repetitions completed. Why? To add variety to the old 5K and to offer those of us who are a bit slower but maybe stronger than the fleet of foot that always win at the local races.
