Description: Join the fun at Iowa Falls’ first every Winter Rec Fest Triathlon.  Snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and running will complete a 5K flat course.  Registration, transitions, and finish will all take place at the Empress Boat Club.  Snowshoeing and skiing courses will be on the scenic Iowa River, running course will follow River Road out to Weaver’s Cove and back.  Cost $20 plus equipment rental if needed.  Teams and individuals welcome.  Part of the first ever Winter Rec Festival with activities for the whole family!

Description: 10 Minute swim in a heated pool, 30 minute ride on a spin bike, and a 20 minute run on a treadmill. Waves start every 35 minutes beginning at 7:00 am with the last wave leaving at 11:05. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your assigned wave for packet pick up and race instructions. Racers will have 5 minutes between the swim and the spin and 2 minutes between the spin and the run. Winners (overall and age group, male and female) will be determined by overall distance traveled. Each participant gets race shirt and are eligible for door prizes. Home backed goodies are available after the race. All proceeds will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City.

Participants will run 5 miles through single/double track trails, navigate their way across creeks, and enjoy a true trail running experience!

Route: The runners and skiers are bused (included with registration) in style to their start in Dyersville and finish at the Handlebar in Durango Iowa. Transportation back to the start is also available. The entire race is downhill on the groomed Heritage Trail (Rails to Trails system). The bikers start their doomed journey in Dubuque and travel on public and private snow mobile trails to historic railroad town of Graf where they then travel on Heritage trail to Dyersville the halfway check-in then turn back to Durango for the finish. The bike route is sometimes altered slightly due to trail conditions and weather.

Description: The Triple D Winter race is a winter endurance trail event that traverses Dubuque County Iowa in the dead of winter by bike, ski or foot.

While we have lots of volunteers helping and monitoring the race, all racers are to be SELF supported and are not allowed to receive outside help (other than verbal encouragement). Racers will need to carry any extra clothing, food, hydration, etc. that will allow them to finish the event. Racers are allowed to purchase items along the race at local establishments (nearest are about a mile off the trail). We have a number of Sag Vehicles to retrieve racers if they cannot continue. Racers may receive help from other racers.

Description: A beautiful run through scenic Scott County Park, near Eldridge/Parkview, Iowa. This is an 8k run (approx. 4.8 miles) with gentle rolling hills. The roads are always well cleared. Starts at Whispering Pines pavilion, just inside the park. There will be shirts, snacks, hot cider, awards and great door prizes, including bikes. Please sign up early to receive a shirt.
