Where

Description: Capital Striders and Pella Windows and Doors announce the 27th Annual Capital Pursuit.

We invite you to participate in the classic 10-mile race which winds through the East Village, Drake Neighborhood, Polk Boulevard, Ingersoll business district, and finishes back downtown at Nollen Plaza.

There’s also a 5K race run entirely in the downtown area.

A portion of this year’s race proceeds will be donated to Iowa Kidstrong Foundation which is dedicated to promoting active healthy lifestyles among children by supporting local elementary school physical education and health programs.

Description: The Quad Cities Marathon, a USATF certified course and Boston Marathon qualifier, has been held annually in September. The event covers 5 races, 4 cities, 3 bridges, 2 states, and 1 Island, all along the mighty Mississippi River.The 26.2 mile run starts and ends in downtown Moline, IL.

If your a marathon veteran or a first time runner you’ll love the Quad Cities area. We are a race organized by friendly Midwest people who love to run. And we are the only place on the Mississippi were the river runs East and West.

The marathon course consists of approximately 17 miles of relatively flat terrain, 8 miles of rolling countryside and approximately 2 miles of “real” hills. The running surface consists of concrete and asphalt pavement.

What: 10 Mile and 4 Mile Run/ Walk.  At Lake Macbride State Park this scenic ground limestone trail winds along the lake. There are some short stretches of asphalt. There is one significant hill descending at about ½ mile from the start which you will have to ascend on the return. This is a well maintained and pretty trail but not a fast course. The route will be the same as the previous four years.
