A well organized race. Like other commentors, I appreciate the no T-shirt options. They also have the BEST hoemade cookies afterwards. Depending on the weather the route can get quite warm as there is very little shade along the route. The course winds entirely through the Prairie campus with limited portions on the two major streets bordering the campus.
The race was short, very unfortunate and seems like it could have been avoided by just altering the start or finish slightly. Love the no shirt option to keep entry fee very low. Post race food always a treat.
The Course was a little short this year, due to construction and a new route, but overall it was still a great local 5K. The entry fees super cheap, especially if you don’t want the shirt.
Lots of baby strollers and families.
Nice route, some low inclines for a little challenge. After race refreshments were great!!!
Great race-very organized. Course is pretty flat. Great food and drinks after the race.
Looks like the CRFD website was reorganized. There should be a downloadable registration form above.

I would like some information about how to register for this race!
Does anyone know how to register for this? The website given does not work.
Craig, this is a better link to the 5K site http://www.cedar-rapids.org/fire/memorial5k.asp you have to scroll to the bottom of the page. It says on the site that they will be posting it in April. I’m not sure when that means exactly, but early registration ends May 22nd which leaves a little time.
Definitely a good race to come back for. Good setup for before and after the race.
I would like to register for this run…..where can I go to do this. I’m currently in Maryland (active duty Marine) and will home on leave May 26-June 5.
I’m a volunteer firefighter in Laurel City MD and would like to support the CRFD
This is a truly wonderful race
I was able to talk my husband into running this one, it was his very first 5K. He loved the flat course. The door prizes, food and beverages after the race were SUPER! I cant wait for this one to roll around again next year.
This is my favorite 5K race. I love the after race food – homemade cookies and Panera bagels. What could be more great! I have run this for 3 years. Would not miss it.
Great race and very well organized. I liked the after race refreshments–Panera bagels, oranges, bananas, and various drinks. I will definately run again.
