Red Dress Run

All are welcome, go out and get your dresses or pull them out of storage. We will be sending directions and a map of the course before the date.
This event was started by our friend, and former board member, Tim Saylor. It was a serious sort of event that we all wore dresses to the first year to surprise Tim. It’s all for fun and to socialize with your running buddies.

We will have door prizes, food, drinks and some awards.

Afterward enjoy sloppy joes and cookies. If you would like to bring food please do!

There is no entry fee, we are accepting donations for Washington Track where we have TNT practice and CVRA timing Fund to raise money to improve our timing equipment.

Coca-Cola Classic

Missouri River Runners’ oldest organized road race; it has been in existence since 1995. The “Coca Cola Classic” race is held the first weekend in November. This years race will include a 5K, 1K, and Toddler Trot.

The race is on an out and back course which begins at Four Seasons Health Club and finishes on the Floyd River Trail. This is probably the flattest race course in Sioux City. The unobstructed view along the course allows runners to see some of the industrial side of Sioux City and to observe all of their fellow participants.

Hawkeye 50K/25K

Tim, a runner in Iowa City, is exploring the possibility of organizing a 50K/25K race at Lake Macbride. Lake Macbride is near Iowa City, about 10 miles north of I-80. The course is a 25K loop (15.5 miles, so 50K runners would do two loops).

Pewterman Pentathlon

Where: Start at Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, IA

This unique event combines five different disciplines of running.
5k Run
400 meter dash
1 mile run
100 yard dash
and 10 Mile Run
in that order all on the same day! Each participant must complete all five events to become a “Pewterman Pentathlete” and receive an event T-shirt.

Muddy Monster

The Muddy Monster cross country run is more than just your ordinary road race! It is a journey that allows the common athlete to achieve personal goals, enjoy what nature has to offer, take a step back in history, and participate in Halloween fun.

Muddy Monster offers a 15K run (9.3 miles), 5K run/walk (3.1 miles), Monster Mile (17 & under), and a Lil’ Monster fun run. The loop course, which takes place almost entirely on grass and trails, starts and finishes in scenic Seminole Valley Park and runs through Ushers Ferry Historic Village. Participants are also encouraged to have some fun and race in their favorite Halloween costume! Every participant in costume will be eligible for costume awards.

Broken Toe Trail Run

Where: Stone State Park, 5001 Talhot Road, Sioux City, IA

Distances: 4 Mile run/ walk and 2 Mile walk

“Broken Toe” is a trail run at scenic Stone State Park. The race for individuals and
families to promote health, fitness, and appreciation of natural resources in Siouxland. Any proceeds from the race will benefit the Friends of Stone Park
for park improvements. In the event of heavy rain, the race will be held on asphalt surface within the park.
Routes will be announced the day of the race.

Indian Summer Distance Classic

Where: Start at Lake Macbride State Park, 3525 Highway 382 NE,Solon, IA 52333

What: 10 Mile and 4 Mile Run/ Walk. At Lake Macbride State Park this scenic ground limestone trail winds along the lake. There are some short stretches of asphalt. There is one significant hill descending at about ½ mile from the start which you will have to ascend on the return. This is a well maintained and pretty trail but not a fast course. The route will be the same as the previous four years.

Race for Hope – Siouxland

Swamp Fox Festival

Description: Race starts in downtown Marion adjacent to the Depot Pavilion at 6th Avenue and 10th Street. The course is mostly flat with a few rolling hills towards the end.
