Muddy Monster

The Muddy Monster cross country run is more than just your ordinary road race! It is a journey that allows the common athlete to achieve personal goals, enjoy what nature has to offer, take a step back in history, and participate in Halloween fun.

Muddy Monster offers a 15K run (9.3 miles), 5K run/walk (3.1 miles), Monster Mile (17 & under), and a Lil’ Monster fun run. The loop course, which takes place almost entirely on grass and trails, starts and finishes in scenic Seminole Valley Park and runs through Ushers Ferry Historic Village. Participants are also encouraged to have some fun and race in their favorite Halloween costume! Every participant in costume will be eligible for costume awards.

Market to Market 50K

Description: This unique point-to-point 50k course begins in the rural village of Murdock and slices along crushed limestone trails towards the prairie capitol of Lincoln, Nebraska. Description: Come explore trail running in the Black Hills!

Set in the Black Hills of South Dakota and Wyoming’s Bear Lodge Mountains, the Black Hills Trail Running Series, a “Points Series” was created to encourage people to try trail running and to provide races for all abilities in the beautiful Black Hills region. 2012 consists of ten trail runs; six sponsored by the Black Hills Runners Club and four races put on by our running friends throughout the area. We’ve picked great places to run – each Race Director has a favorite to share. We mark the trails, track each race’s finish times and post the results for those that like that info. Consistency can overcome speed. We award points in Men/Women Divisions with three age groups: Open Division, 39 and under, Masters Division, 40 – 49; Grand Masters Division 50 and older. We keep a running total of the accumulated points and present awards at the end of the Series in November. Since we’re running for fun, we do not present awards for the winners of each individual race – we think everyone out there on the trail deserves a little something. So, we have some great sponsors donating cool stuff and we have drawings for fun prizes at each BHRC sponsored race.

Indian Summer Distance Classic

Where: Start at Lake Macbride State Park, 3525 Highway 382 NE, Solon, IA 52333

What: 10 Mile and 4 Mile Run/ Walk. At Lake Macbride State Park this scenic ground limestone trail winds along the lake. There are some short stretches of asphalt. There is one significant hill descending at about ½ mile from the start which you will have to ascend on the return. This is a well maintained and pretty trail but not a fast course. The route will be the same as the previous four years.

Running Village 25K and 50K

Description: This will be 90% off-road on dirt trails and grassy paths. It will consist of 25K loops with an estimated 2 miles of paved bike path. The 1/2 way point will be a great place for drop bags if desired. There will be 4 to 5 water/aid stations. Get your dirt on!

Description: The Market to Market Relay is the Midwest’s premier day-long team relay race that takes runners from Omaha to Lincoln. Over the course of 78 miles, teams of 6-8 individuals run 2-4 stages per person varying in distance from 3 to 5 miles each. The course follows trails, paved streets and gravel back roads through a diverse and scenic slice of Nebraska. Combine the running with outrageous costumes, memorable van rides, and a lively Post Race Shindig Party and it all adds up to 1 unforgettable day.

Appetite for Marion 5K
