Making your job easier

You have plenty to worry about as a race director, but we can make your life a little bit easier. With Running Wall’s online registration, you can look forward to:

• No manually tallying t-shirt sizes and participant numbers
• No credit card processing fees

Accessing registration information

As a race director, you can view, download and even print a list of all registered runners. You can also view real-time reports at any time, day or night. Your report includes how many are registered, their information and how much money you’ve received to date. You can even see who began the registration process but didn’t complete payment.

What your runners pay

As a runner, I know how frustrating a $5 registration fee can be for a small, local race. As a result, I made sure our charges were much lower than the competition. We can charge fair prices because we don’t do outside advertising and have a very small team of local runners, like you!

The processing fee to runners is $1 plus 5% of the entry fee. Here’s what that looks like for different entry fees:

$20 registration fee = $2.00 extra
$30 registration fee = $2.50 extra
$45 registration fee = $3.25 extra
$60 registration fee = $4.00 extra

So how does this compare? We are the lowest by far. If you find lower, I’ll match it and send you a dozen Clif Bars, on the house! Seriously, I’ll send them!

Getting paid

At Running Wall, we receive payments with credit cards, debit cards and Paypal. We handle all the processing and credit card fees. We will then send you a check and send it to you every two weeks for the exact amount of every registration fee you’ve received so far. When registration closes, your final check will be sent right away!

Encouraging online registration

Most races will pass the cost of online registration to runners. You can do this and will still find a healthy amount of online registration. But if you’d really like to make your job easier and your runners happy, think about discounting online registration enough to offset the cost to your runners. You’ll find many more runners registering online and you’ll save hours or even days in managing the race registration process.

So what do you do with all that free time? I suggest going for a run or sitting back with a tall glass of lemonade!

Getting almost everyone to register online

Here are a few more things you can do to get your runners registering online:

• Include a website address on your printed brochures and paper entry forms. You’d be surprised at how many runners receive a form but prefer to pay online.
• Request your runners’ email addresses. Email them before the race to get them excited. Most race registrations are the result of people telling others about the race. The more excited they are, the more people they’ll tell. Your email list will also be a huge asset for future years.
• Set up an early registration discount. The earlier your runners get registered, the sooner you can plan the race and the sooner you get paid! And many times, runners are on the fence and just need a little nudge in the right direction. Setting a deadline on your early discount works wonders for these people. Having different prices for different dates is easy with Running Wall’s online registration.
