Nice race this year. Wonderfull volunteers, plenty of food and water. Nice downhill start. An enjoyable race with only a few small hills. No t-shirt option is also nice.
see below!
Really well organized, great competitors, chip timing, swag bags, and post-race food! And cheap $10 no-t-shirt option!
This was the second 5k that my wife and I had done. We are walkers and had a good time except for the little white stuff that was falling down all around us. I thought the course was a nice even course with some rolling hills and one big hill at the end. Since the weather as all that great they did not give away any awards after the race, i dont blame them, it was cold out there. Over all it was a good race.
i enjoyed the race it was the first time i have done this before, i am glad i did it and am looking forward to completeing another race i can’t wait. thanks dawn
This was my first time running this race. Couldn’t ask for better weather. Set a new 5k PB and will definitely run this race again next year.
Course: A few rolling hills and a nice downhill to the finish. Cops stopped traffic for participants, course well marked.
Organization: Smooth sailing at the packet pickup at the Police Department and Race Day organization was top notch. Lots of parking, Only complaint was they could use a louder bullhorn so people in the back of the pack can hear.
Packet Freebies: Instead of the usual plastic bag it was a Back Pack Sack with the race logo, Lip balm, pen, pencil, sample of Bio-freeze Pain relieving gel, long sleeved t-shirt, $2 off coupon for Road ID.
Post Race: Bagels, bananas, water and other treats were available immediately after the race. I did not stay for the awards ceremony or other post race festivities.
This was my first year to run it and it was a great race. I was very impressed with the organization. The rolling hills made it a great change of pace and there was a nice change of scenery.
Great job, once again! I love the route with a couple uphills but always followed with a nice downhill on the other side. Always well organized. Lots of runners turned out this year with over 100 more than last year.
Though the race was in its 3rd year it was the first time that I participated in this one. I loved the location & the route. The atmosphere was very friendly & was fun to hang around before & after the race. I will definitely do this race again next year. The door prize drawings were a nice touch for those that didn’t place in the race but could walk away with a nice prize, as long as they were present.
The race is in it’s 3rd year and I also ran the 1st one. This year had many more participants! Thomas Park is a nice place for the start/ finish b/c of the ample parking, shelters, and restrooms. Dogs are allowed on the course, so I got to run with mine. Will do this race again next year.
