A great race for a small town race. Nice to have medals for age group finishers.
Thanks for having door prizes (even though I didn’t win one) it was great to see people win things.
One suggestion for doing those. Only give prizes for those present, which you ended up doing in the end, but there was some confusion as to what would happen with that when you had first called names that weren’t there. I say if they didn’t stay they don’t win. Many of us stayed around.
I don’t think it was right that there was someone that won a gym membership for a year and then walked up to give it back just because she doesn’t live in the area and then she was able to have the $50 gift certificate to Tuscan Moon. If she didn’t live in the area, that is her problem and should have given her prize away, not expected another door prize. If you are going to trade door prizes, then give her a shirt. You had said you were going to RE-DRAW a person for that Tuscan Moon prize and then you didn’t, so that was disappointing.
Having food at the end was great. Thanks for the bananas, granola bars, oranges and water. Just perfect. I loved the smoothies that you could purchase, they tasted amazing!
The race route was okay except the part in the woods. You had race people/volunteers at every turn, until the woods. There was a part where we came out of the woods then went back in and there was no one there to point where to go, the arrow was super light. As a result my friend was up ahead running around in the cemetery and lost time because of that, she clearly didn’t know where the route was. I would suggest if this is possible that we do an out and back course on PAVED roads, easier on the feet and back.
