Indian Summer Distance Classic

Saturday, September 24th, 2011, 9:00am

Where: Start at Lake Macbride State Park, 3525 Highway 382 NE, Solon, IA 52333

What: 10 Mile and 4 Mile Run/ Walk.  At Lake Macbride State Park this scenic ground limestone trail winds along the lake. There are some short stretches of asphalt. There is one significant hill descending at about ½ mile from the start which you will have to ascend on the return. This is a well maintained and pretty trail but not a fast course. The route will be the same as the previous four years.

This was my 11th race this year, i decided to walk this one with my wife instead of run it. This is my fav shirt of all of the shirts i received this year. This course was important to me because Lake McBride is my most favorite place in the whole world, and have requested my ashes to be spread there once i have gone. I love the course, a couple of decent sized hills, but they were ok, I know i will be doing this next year, plan on running it then. I want to say thanks for making sure my wife and i got xxl shirts, it pays to contact them early if you need something like that. I recomend having shirts and goodies in begs so the runners dont have full hands

Great race put on by CVRA. Thanks for the chip timing and super fast results. The home baked goodies were AMAZING. Thanks to all those who took time to bake stuff. Love the shirt. The course was challenge with some small hills, but loved it. I had a great time today and posted about it on my running blog. http://www.managingthewaist.blogspot.com

This was a fun race with a great course. Love/hate relationship with the last hill ;) Love the short and long races! Daughters ran the 4 mile and hubby and I ran the 10 mile and we all had a great time! Hopefully we’ll be back next year! Thanks!

This was an excellent trail run. The start and finish was far away from the post race activities, which not a lot of people stayed for. It was an out and back course that could have used a few more water stops and bathrooms.
