Ran this race in 2010. Very nice route, enjoyed the two switchbacks where you could see the other runners. The finish was a little poorly laid out – you passed the finish area before making one more long loop to the finish, which was a little disorienting. The markings on the road were tough to see and decipher, but the signs that were up were good. A little better signage and a few more volunteers along the course, and this is destined to be a great distance classic for the corridor area. Excellent after-race food and refreshments.
Great race for the first annual. I thought the course would be really hilly, but it wasn’t too bad considering Mount Vernon. It was nice to have access to the high school before and after the run. The spaghetti afterwards was a surprise and very good, especially considering the entry fee, well worth it. The course was a little tricky to with lots of turns but the volunteers did a nice job at directing. Overall, it was a good run!
