This was my first half marathon and this race certainly got me hooked! The race was very well organized, with water every 2 miles (and then an extra one at mile 12-ish!) and police and medical support along the entire course. The spectators were amazing…the community really got behind this race and made it enjoyable for the runners. The course was great…a little narrow in some places where it was a little tough to run 2 across, which made passing slower runners/walkers a little bit tough. But there were plenty of areas that were wider which allowed for this. Post race was pretty good from what I remember…lots of food and Gatorade, and a lot of participants stayed around to mingle. I left earlier than I’d hoped to just due to some leg cramps. But I had so much fun, and I’m so glad I chose this race for my first half marathon experience! I will definitely be returning to WI next year to run this one again.
