Last year this race was done perfectly. Everything was GREAT LAST year with the instant results and everything seemed super organized. This year however there were many things that needed your attention that didn’t happen. No instant results and I was told this was because there wasn’t an internet connection???? REALLY why not, you had the Sports Medicine building and that has internet. Also the lady who I asked about results snapped at me and didn’t seem ready to do anything after the race. Not enough food after the race for everyone. Why did you change the course to a cross country course? Last year the run was West on Melrose, then South on Mormon Trek Blvd. and then on a trail to the finish and that was AWESOME, yet this year you changed it to the cross country course on grass, with holes and hills. The 10K started late and no one could hear when the 5K was starting, all of a sudden those of us at the back noticed the 5K had started and started running to catch up. Where were the starting chip timing mats? You had a chip timing starting mat last year. Then you only had a time clock for the 10K racers, so us 5K racers had no idea what our time really was until you finally printed and posted results. The cost for a 5K was a little high in my opinion AND you ran out of shirts for those who had registered early and paid for the shirts. Thank goodness I picked up my shirt last night, but my friend who picked up her packet this morning didn’t get her shirt, that shouldn’t ever happen, you order the amount of shirts that people paid for and not less. Please seriously look into these items and fix them for next year.
Beautiful morning. Course was relatively flat for Iowa City. Conditions were perfect and the participation excellent.
I would run again.
