Description: The Green Run, a 10K cross-country race with an accompanying 5K cross-country run/walk, always takes place on a mid-September Sunday morning. As a runner, you will experience the same adrenaline boost and challenge of other cross-country races, with their uphill battles and varying degrees of terrain. The difference comes in the scenery.
While you might expect to see nothing but mounds of trash and debris at a race sponsored by a landfill, you’ll be pleasantly surprised as you run across restored native prairie and wetlands, and view recycling and water protection at work throughout the course.
