I ran the 10k. Very good sized race, most volunteers per runner I have ever seen. No chance of getting lost and they cheered for the runners – nice touch! Course was varied from city street to park trail. Couple decent inclines and one killer hill on mile 5, but overall a good course. The organizers handled the bad weather very well. Fantastic age group awards. Second place included a medal (though no neck ribbon) and a $25 GC to Scheels. Post race food lacked big time, a race that size can afford more variety. With chip timing the awards should have been done faster. Overall a very fun race that I plan to do again.
This race was more a last minute decision to sign up and I was surprised how many runners turned out, especially considered some light rain. I did the 10K option and I liked how most of the 5K route was combined. The only mile (mile 2-3) was a little quiet running by the river in the park. Not that it was a bad thing, there was just a lot of spectators out cheering for the other miles. Good finish line and post race party, even with rain.
This is a great course, there is only a small part that you run twice otherwise it is a nice run from city to park and back. There were lots of volunteers on the street and plenty of water stations to get you through the race. Getting chips before the race was a little hectic, but post race activities have a nice set up. Excellent overall!

Good run, one BIG hill. Very scenic! Nice weather, rained when reace was done.
