Webster City Running Club

Our club has many projects and activities to get involved in. Some of our main projects are the Firecracker 5K, which has averaged over two hundred participants the last fifteen years. We also do highway cleanup on two miles of Beach Street and 2 miles on old highway 20 twice a year; this is a great community service activity. In the fall and spring we have a lot of fun helping out the track (boys and girls) and cross-country teams, by being the official timers at the meets. It’s a great way to see and encourage the young kids coming up through the grades. We also support both programs with donations when the need arises. The Club helps put on the annual Turkey Trot that donates between 150 & 200 canned goods to the food pantry.

The WCRC has plenty of fun activities to participate in. We meet twice a month for pizza at the Seneca Street Saloon, Every year we go to the DAM TO DAM road race together and spend the night at a downtown motel in Des Moines. We have also added the Feb. Red Flannel Run in our growing lists of annual events.

The WCRC does run once in a while, believe it or not. We always encourage new runners to join us. We have all types of runners that will go any pace you desire to go. So if you are thinking of starting to run and you live near Webster City please come and join us.
