Wildcat Den Trail Run

Saturday, September 11th, 2010, 8:00am

Where: Wildcat Den State Park, Between Muscatine & Quad Cities, 1 mile north of Iowa Highway 22

Description:

  • Run or walk the roads and trails of Wildcat Den State Park.
  • The course is a 5K route beginning and ending in the upper picnic area.
  • Most of the course is off-road following mowed and marked trails through the park’s scenic natural areas.
  • All proceeds go to Pine Creek Grist Mill.
  • Trophies will be awarded to the overall male and female winners.
  • Medallions will be awarded to the first three male and female finishers in each Age Group

    This was my first trail race and I loved it. I was really apprehesive about what it would be like to run trails but the race was challenging and felt good to run. The awards given to the top finishers were handmade medals made out of 1/2″ slices of tree branch – very unique and one to be proud of. Great job to Muscatine Running Friends and the Wildcat Den Park officials for a successful race! Definitely plan to attend again in 2011.
